Okay, I love going to Garage Sales, Yard Sales, Rummage Sales.
I was born into it, I remember my mother and me at a local church rummage sale, her moving along the tables piled high with clothes and things, her pushing with her knee along with a cardboard box under the table with me at her other knee.
As I grew up and we moved from Wisconsin to Chicago our range of places to hunt for things at below retail grew.
I recall one place where the clothes were huge piles, but I still managed to find an old cashmere sweater for 50 cents that likely cemented my desire for great stuff cheap.
As I look around my home I can see that the majority of my furnishing, decorations, pictures, artwork, lamps, etc all came from thrifting.
Mitch, my husband has embraced my form of shopping and now just tells me when he feels we need something for the household instead of just running out and buying new.
My new list has on it, a small table or cabinet to raise up the small cube fridge (bought for $20, retail $100) we use in our upstairs bedroom for the middle of the night water or sparkling water trips saving us a groggy trip downstairs.
I also need some espresso cups for our new coffee station.
They will come, I will be patient.
This past week I went to a local church rummage sale and had a grand old time picking through the treasures.
These are just a few of my finds.
This 3 D wall art was perfect to add to the wall beside a shelf that I have a number of little birdhouses on display, it was $2.00 and over a foot tall.
This metal wall rack with hooks had to come home with me for $2.00 and is now on the wall by the back door to hold tote bags.
Without the birds on it, it would have been blah.
This table lamp is an exact match of our foyer ceiling chandelier (below) for only $5.00, had to have it, okay, I don’t know where it will go yet…
Whoda thunk it?
They didn’t realize the battery charger was elsewhere until I asked and someone remembered seeing the charger placed in another section of the sale.
Uniting it was a great deal at $6 for a used weed wacker.

These simple plastic grapevines add a lot to the plain shelving at 50 cents, found two of them.
We have been seeking out decorative foliage to help soften the look of the new store we run and I have been finding some lovely pieces for $1.00 average.
This Keurig pod holder was just what we needed for 50 cents to go with my gifted used Keurig.
Of course, when I told Mitch they had another Keurig just like the one was had for $5.00 he said I should have gotten it for a spare. Oh well.
I will stumble across another I am sure, it seems used Keurig’s and George Foreman Grills appear to be almost a required item at Garage and Rummage sales. LOL.
I get hot. Fans are a very important part of our home.
Not a common Yard sale item, but it went on when plugged in and was quiet.
The switch doesn’t work but we’re using it to keep humidity down in a shed so who cares? Price: $1.00.
