VPNs vs WARP 1×4 the Showdown

I see a lot of you are VPN users.

As a full-time webmaster of 25 years, respectfully, I’ve never been a fan of VPN because they slow things down and reduce bandwidth.

I’m working on three websites as we travel in our motorhome using Starlink as our ISP.

For privacy, I’ve opted to use Cloudflare WARP, aka 1.1.1.1. (There is a free version) instead of a VPN

FYI – Cloudflare WARP is a client-side application that secures and optimizes your internet connection by routing your traffic through Cloudflare’s global network.

So, unless you’re a hacker needing to hide your IP or feel tricking Netflix into thinking you’re streaming from Romania to get better programming, you may want to at least consider a VPN alternative

Has anyone tried WARP from Cloudflare?

I’m not a fan of VPNs, but have been using Cloudflare for other applications for 8 or 9 years

I’m running (free plan) it on my Starlink Gen 3 network on 5 devices.

Pro plan is $4.99/mo – Juries still out for me
